Saying goodbye to our 1st house....

We said goodbye to our 1st house today. I was really a lot more sad than I thought I would be. We've wanted to move into a different house for quite some time, as we have outgrown our 1200sq foot home by about 3 kids! But we sold a little faster than expected and then decided to take the opportunity while we could, to try and save up a down payment for our next and hopefully last house for a while. So off to Grandma and Grandpa's house we go! Wish us luck! We're lucky to have parents who will take all of us in w/o question. We definitely know that!

I thought the kids would just be full of excitement about going to Grandpa and Grandma's house and they wouldn't really be old enough to realize what was happening. I don't know who's kids I thought we were fooling b/c ours are way too smart to outsmart! Finley was the first one to break my heart. I put her in bed at Grandma's house the very 1st night and she asked me when we were going back to "our" house. I about had to cry! But once I probed her with questions about what she was afraid of, she was only afraid that mommy and daddy hadn't packed all of her things. Once she knew that all of her things were coming with us, she was just fine with the process. Brody was pretty much the same way, as long as he knew his trains and cars would be there wherever he was going, it was alright with him! And having Mawmaw Julie at his disposal 24/7, well what could be better?! Quinn has no clue...as long as there is food where she's going, there are no issues!

So all in all it was a bittersweet move, back in the house where I grew up once again spending time with my parents. I know we're lucky to A) have parents, B) have parents who are okay with us living here, and by us I mean all of us....2 adults, 3 kids under 3, a dog and a hermit crab! Oh yeah...and a garage, half a basement and 3 bedrooms full of stuff! If this is the worst of it, we're pretty blessed!
